Watch: All References and Easter Eggs in Aquaman

Aquaman had just released in US theaters last weekend, and even before then the film was already a huge hit. Mr. Sunday Movies on Youtube catches us up on all the Easter Eggs and references we’ve missed thanks with this new video.

Check it:

Like every comic book film, it’s bound to have a lot Easter Eggs, but I like the ones that have been staring you right in the face without you realizing it. For one, I didn’t know that Patrick Wilson’s look as Orm was supposed to mirror Aquaman’s original blonde comic look; in the comics Aquaman is blonde with Orm having black hair, in the film it’s Aquaman who has dark hair with Orm being blonde.

We also get some theories on the possible sequel what with the teaser that Black Manta is still alive. In the comics, Manta was the one who cut off Arthur Curry’s hand, which Curry then had to replace with a giant hook. With Manta’s Atlantean blade, I’m pretty sure he’s going to do something like that with the sequel—which, after the success of this movie, is probably already greenlit.

It’s also worth noting that the character of Stephen Shin (Randall Park), the Atlantis fanatic, was also in the Aquaman comics. He was actually a good friend of Arthur Curry but became an antagonist when Curry refused to show him Atlantis. In the film, he’s just an obsessed fan who manages to team-up with Black Manta by the end.

Aquaman is having a great holiday run, and you can catch the film in theaters now.
