Watch: A BTS Look at the Droids and Aliens from Solo A Star Wars Story

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits home video next week, and Lucasfilm is releasing a steady stream of marketing to promote the release. Thanks to The Star Wars Show, we get a look at all the new droids and aliens that were made for the film.

The segment starts at 2:26:

I’ll admit, it wasn’t really clear in the movie, but they actually made a lot of droids for the ‘revolution’ that L3 instigates on Kessell. Most of them are actually just cute by design. I thought we would have seen more of the droids that were doing battle earlier in the movie.

It’s also amazing how they brought Lady Proxima to life. At one point, I didn’t know that she was a completely practical effect; and it’s amazing how they managed to make the puppet work in a huge tank of water. They even needed to have the puppeteers in wetsuits.

Though Solo may not have made the most money as a Star Wars film, the movie has no doubt topnotch effects as well as amazing production design — I expect no less from Lucasfilm. I’m just hopeful we get to see more of Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo in the future because he was amazing.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits digital Sept. 14.
