Star Wars Squadrons is Supposed to be a VR Game in New Honest Game Trailer

EA has been making good with their promise to deliver more Star Wars content, and they’ve managed to nab a sleeper hit with Star Wars: Squadrons. Just in, Fandom Games has dropped their Honest Game Trailer take on the latest in starfighter battle simulations.

Watch this:

Strap into the cockpit of your favorite ship from the Star Wars franchise—as long as you like the popular ones—and take to the stars in a reinvigoration of the Star Wars dogfighting game; a mini-genre basically abandoned almost 20 years ago for reasons unknown, despite the fact that it’s one of the most obvious ideas for a Star Wars game.

With the world of Star Wars being so vast, it was a wonder why EA didn’t want to bank on the several types of properties they can pump out with the IP. While lightsabers and Jedi provide good material for platforming, the world of smugglers and bounty hunters can be a basis for shooters, and you can even make racing games with all the different vehicles and ships.

Admittedly, the Star Wars fanbase is very loud, and there are some fans that demand that every thing that comes out be ‘for them.’ With Squadrons though, I think this is EA saying that they’re ready to make games for the more niche branches of the fandom.

Star Wars: Squadrons is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
