Star Wars Battlefront II: Players Stop Mid-Match to Watch Obi-Wan and Grievous Duel

Ever since Revenge of the Sith there has been this unspoken rivalry between General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Obi-Wan just arriving in the last expansion from Star Wars Battlefront II, a hilarious Heroes vs Villains game was suddenly put to a stop when all the players wanted to watch Obi-Wan squaring off with Grievous.

Just in case you couldn’t watch the video, it ends with Grievous eventually knocking Obi-Wan out of the map. Though it seems that the Rey was about to find herself attacked, the guy playing Kylo decided to an unspoken ceasefire so that everyone would watch the duel peacefully.

Though Battlefront II may have had a disastrous launch last year, DICE has been working extra hard to bring in new content that had been promised since launch. We’ve been getting a weak trickle since last year, but the Geonosis expansion complete with a new map and new playable hero has reinvigorated the hope that BFII has a bright future ahead of it.

After Obi-Wan, we’re expecting Count Dooku to be a playable hero come January next year. The month after that will give us Anakin Skywalker plus a new game mode. We don’t know what that game mode will be, but I’m hoping that we get something other than Heroes vs. Villains to play with the hero characters. Heck, I’ll be all-in for an all-hero version of extraction.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
