Star Wars Battlefront II: Check Out the Sarlacc, Rancors, and other Easter Eggs in Felucia

DICE has just dropped a new map for Star Wars Battlefront II, and what’s neat is, it’s full of some cool Easter Eggs for anyone who likes to look at fine details. Thanks to BattlefrontUpdates on Youtube, we get a look at the Sarlacc pit, some dead rancors, and a lot more.

Check it out:

As you can see, the game really knows its Clone Wars references, as the rancor was native to the world of Felucia. if you want to go into detail though, the Felucian rancors were different and were classified as jungle rancor; the rancor in the game looks like the same one in Jabba’s palace—but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

The Sarlacc pit under the lake is also extremely ominous. I love how they chose to forgo the “beak” and just make it a bottomless hole with teeth. I’d say give it tentacles that could grab players, but I think that would be too much work on the developers’ part.

If you’re a fan of the original Battlefront II though, I’m sure you’re wondering where the Acklay is. Sadly, there aren’t any references found on the map yet, but it’s possible that we could be getting something next month for Halloween. Then again, I’d be completely up for a Rancor hunt instead, if bringing the Acklay in is too much work.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
