Sean Bean Appears in The Tonight Show's Game of Thrones Skit

Game of Thrones is finally returning this Sunday, and everyone is gearing up for the beginning of the end. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has come up with this skit trying to get everyone hyped for the show, and who should make an appearance but Ned Stark himself?

Check it:

Admittedly the skit itself isn’t really that funny, but I think it’s worth it to have Sean Bean try to evoke Ned Stark one more time. There’s also a last-minute appearance from author George R.R. Martin who gives fans hope of the ongoing books (if they’ll ever be finished).

Besides the books though, HBO is already gearing up for a prequel spinoff that will take place before the main events of Game of Thrones. We don’t really have a title yet, but Martin himself has said that he would prefer the show to be called The Long Night. Let’s just wait and see if HBO agrees with him. I mean, they didn’t even call the show The Song of Ice and Fire; Game of Thrones is just the title of the first book.

For now, it looks like the sides have now been cleared out for the final season. We have Cersei all by herself in King’s Landing with all the Starks and Daenery’s forces united in Winterfell. While I know the show is gearing up for a huge battle sequence with the White Walkers, I’m kind of hoping we get some more of that political drama that made the show what it was in the earlier seasons.

Catch Game of Thrones 8 when it premieres on HBO April 14.
