Real-life superheroes, though not abundant, are actually a thing, and a Spider-Man inspired crimefighter by the name of Black Widow has been spotted in the Norfolk, Virginia.

Armed with a baton and a black belt in martial arts, Black Widow has actually intervened with a handful of crimes with his area, stopping some carjackers and a man who was allegedly assaulting a woman. He also likes to stop fights that erupt in bars.

He also tries to spread the message of “be yourself,” which I don’t think is a bad thing at all. My main concern is that someone might actually pull a gun on Black Widow and shoot the poor guy. Did you see how the mob was able to mess Kick-Ass up in Kick-Ass? That is not a far-off possibility for some guy in a suit that doesn’t even look bulletproof.

Let’s just hope that Norfolk comes with its own version of Night Nurse.
