New Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures Follows Han and Chewie's Lifelong Friendship

Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures continues to impress with their animated shorts, and the newest episode covers the lifelong partnership of Han Solo and Chewbacca.

With all these episodes, I’m starting to think that the show has a soft spot for Han. He’s been the center of a lot of these shorts, and they’ve animated him in a way that he kind of feels like Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. I’d actually love to see some more Sequel Trilogy stuff, but I think the show is waiting on the release of The Rise of Skywalker to draw closer before they start building up the hype.

Going back to Han, though Solo: A Star Wars Story underperformed at the box office, I thought that it was a pretty neat film, and it gave us a look at a branch of the galaxy apart from the Rebellion and the Empire—the seedy criminal underbelly. It’s kind of a shame that Lucasfilm put all these anthology movies on hold because I’m honestly more invested in the non-Force users like the pilots and the smugglers. Not every main character has to be a Jedi.

Speaking of the criminal underbelly, Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian is expected to debut in November, and it’s going to give us a look at the Outer Rim six years after the defeat of the Empire. We’re expected to meet some familiar bounty hunters in the show, and I’m kind of hoping that we could get appearances from other criminal gangs like the Pikes and Black Sun; how about the surviving members of the Hutt Cartel?

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
