Honest Trailer for the Final 3 Seasons of Game of Thrones

Screen Junkies had already done two Honest Trailer takes on Game of Thrones, and just in, they’ve released a final video covering the last three seasons of one of the biggest dramas of modern television.

The show based on George R.R. Martin’s doorstop novels returns, but since they’ve already burned through those, they’re going off an outline, and boy does it feel that way. We’re after one mixed season that still pulled off some major highs, the last two shortened ones scrambled to tie everything up real quick because the showrunners either got bored, burnt out, or bitter that no one liked their slavery idea.

While a lot of people consider the last two seasons to be less than stellar, some would like to think that the last good season of the show was the sixth one. It gave us Cersei blowing up the Sept of Baelor, as well as the magnificent Battle of the Bastards; after that, it was kind of downhill with the weird “Fast-Travel” plus the “Bran the Broken” justification at the end—among a plethora of other narrative problems.

If anything, we got the ending that George R.R. Martin was building up to, but the show just managed to breeze through all of it without any proper pacing. At best, we just breezed through three seasons of great material all squeezed into one seasons-length’s worth of episodes.

Though Game of Thrones may be done, HBO is still looking to keep the franchise going. The spinoff show is currently in the works, and we might get a release date at SDCC 2019 later this month.
