Honest Trailer for Every Wes Anderson Movie

Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs comes out this month, and Screen Junkies thought that it would be appropriate to release an Honest Trailer for every Wes Anderson movie. What’s weird is, they got it absolutely right that every movie in his filmography is kind of the same.

Before you see the whimsical new animated feature from your barista’s favorite director, revisit all his meticulously crafted, awkward family fables that make you kinda happy, kinda sad, and kinda unsure whether you’re supposed to laugh or not.

Though you could argue that there’s a specific aesthetic that’s common between all Wes Anderson films, I never noticed that the stories are also kind of the same as well. As the trailer points out, all of his filmography usually focus on a male protagonist with a weird family history, whose plans go horribly wrong.

Besides that, there’s a montage of everything else you can always spot in an Anderson film, like a type-written letter, someone reading a book, iconic symmetry shots, and a lot more. You’ll also notice actors that Anderson chooses to collaborate with frequently, like Angelica Huston, Jason Schwartzman, and the Wilson brothers.

Though the trailer suggests that all of Anderson’s films are the same, they also admit that his work is a refresher from all the action-heavy CGI movies that we’ll be getting this year. With Pacific Rim Uprising and Ready Player One hitting theaters this March, Isle of Dogs is sure to please.

Isle of Dogs comes out March 23.
