Honest Game Trailers Tears Into Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding

Fans have been waiting years for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding to come out, and the sad part is that the game released with mixed reviews from critics. Now Fandom Games has come out with their Honest Game Trailer for Death Stranding, and they are not pulling back the punches.

Repatriate into one of the most bizarre games of the decade as Hideo Kojima makes his first foray into production after his messy divorce from Konami, and comes out with a 60-hour post-apocalyptic walking simulator with an absolutely bonkers storyline involving exploding ghosts, babies in bottles, and time rain;… in a video game so surreal that it’s genuinely hard to tell if it’s a masterpiece or just a piece of garbage.

If anything, the trailer definitely acknowledges how Kojima is truly creative when it comes to his game design, but that doesn’t really make up for some of the parts that people consider “boring” when it comes to Death Stranding. At some point, some critics even say that Kojima needed Konami to keep him on track; I mean, he can be creative as he wants to be, but the producers were there to make sure he didn’t go off the rails.

On the bright side, this will probably be some great insight for Kojima Productions, and they’ll probably try better when it comes to the next title that they release—if they already have something down the pipeline. A lot of people still love Kojima, and I’m sure they’ll be waiting in line for the follow-up to Death Stranding.

Death Stranding is now playable for PS4.
