Stephen Colbert is a big Star Wars fan, so when the first ever Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer was released yesterday, the TV show host made probably one of the most epic reactions.
“There's no other way to say it: It. Is. Star. Wars," Colbert exclaimed excitedly.
You have to admit that the host is right. The trailer looks awesome. Some fans may have been upset over the lead character in the film being female, but the Rogue One trailer has everything people have loved about Star Wars – AT-ATs (this time on a tropical setting), Forest Whitaker in a fierce suit, an extremely precise Mon Mothma actress, dispensable Stormtroopers, the Death Star, a caped villain, an eerie-looking politician, a boxy droid, and that’s just the half of it.
Rogue One is a standalone movie however, and although we won’t know what happened to Luke or why Rey ended up in Jakku before the events of The Force Awakens, Rogue One still is Star Wars.
Colbert only has one issue:
My only issue is. Shouldn't I have to wait? I'm used to waiting 10 years for a new Star Wars movie. 20 for a good one. Now don't get me wrong. I'm going to be there opening weekend.

Back in 2014, Colbert, who had been hosting The Colbert Report at the time, also expressed his excitement for the trailer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Are you as excited as Colbert to see the movie?
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is slated for release on December 16.
