While the Super Bowl featured TV ads and movie trailers over the weekend, an event celebrating the Chinese New Year showcased dancing robots.
Chinese broadcaster China Central Television celebrated the forthcoming year of the monkey with its Spring Festival Gala. “The absolute highlight” of the show? 540 synchronized dancing robots with a fleet of 29 drones atop them, according to the Shanghaiist.
The video shows the robots doing harmonized thrusts and handstands against Guangzhou City’s skyline and singer Sun Nan’s voice. As unsurprising as it may be for some to find dancing robots, what makes the show a “highlight” is the sheer number of the robots.

They were accompanied overhead by a fleet of 29 drones.
