Details About the New Planet Killer From Star Wars: The Force Awakens

When the official poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was revealed Sunday, the biggest question that emerged was, "What in Sarlacc's Pit is that giant planet killer that resembles the Death Star?"

After looking for clues online, it seems that this may be our first look at the Starkiller Base, which we first learned from The Force Awakens toy descriptions. Starwars.com also offers an official description for the Starkiller Base:

An ice planet converted into a stronghold of the First Order and armed with a fiercely destructive new weapon capable of destroying entire star systems.

So the First Order took an entire planet and converted it into the most destructive weapon we've ever seen in the Star Wars universe. That's great! Since the weapon was converted out of a real planet, there's no thermal venting port for anyoneto fire anything into it to destroy it. The weapon can vent heat naturally through the surface of the planet.

There's still a lot of mystery surrounding this giant superweapon. Hopefully, the new trailer will reveal some details about this incredible new Death Star. Click here to see the full official poster.
