Zack Snyder Confirms Fan Analysis Of Batman v Superman

Though Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was considered to be a critical bomb in the box office, you have to give director Zack Snyder some props for filling it to the brim with metaphors and symbolisms worthy of some in-depth analysis.

A fan by the username The Kingslayer (via Reddit) had posted up a theory that the scene from Batman v Superman where Clark is touched by the people in Day of the Dad make-up was supposed to be a metaphor for the fact that Superman feels guilty of the lives that were lost during the fight with Zod, and this image is of them "weighing him down." It may seem like a farfetched theory, but Zack Snyder has confirmed that it was his actual intention to have that scene mean exactly that.

You can also say that it's a homage to the scene from Man of Steel where Superman sinks down in a pile of skulls. Sure he may have stopped Zod from destroying everyone on Earth, but lives were still lost in their clash in Metropolis.

I absolutely love this. Sure Zack Snyder may have problems with narration, but he was pretty ambitious to try and make Batman v Superman something smarter than your standard superhero movie. A lot of characters and motifs were so beautifully set up, but it's sad that all of it just sort of falls flat in the end. Either way, you don't see symbolism like that in a Marvel movie.

With Justice League set to come out, I'm just hoping that some of the good motifs from BvS have found their way into the movie. No offense to Joss Whedon, but Avengers was kind of a no-brainer popcorn flick if you ask me.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
