Young Professor X James McAvoy Shares His Thoughts On Logan

Logan has been doing extremely well – pushing out The Lego Batman Movie and earning the title of the top earning 2017 film worldwide and raking in acclaim from fans and critics alike. Gritty and grounded, the film bent the superhero genre to give it an immensely powerful tone – one suited to Hugh Jackman's last run as Wolverine and Patrick Stewart's supposed retirement from his iconic role as the X-Men's Professor X.

Promoting his upcoming film Atomic Blonde at its premiere at the SXSW (via Comicbook), the star who plays the younger Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, James McAvoy, also decides to give his thoughts on Logan.

"I know I've got another 40 years of making these movies," he joked when asked about the film.

"It was cool. It was really awesome. And I thought it was beautifully done," McAvoy elaborated. "And just really great to see these stories that we're seeing told a lot, actually, just taken somewhere incredibly different."

Given Stewart's seeming indecisiveness regarding his retirement from the X-Men franchise, it may take some time for McAvoy to fully carry the name of Professor X for the newer films of the series. It's good to see Stewart showing appreciation for the X-Men films that he's not in, praising the work of his comrades.
