X-Men Producer And Kevin Feige Comment On The Possibility Of An X-Men/Avengers Crossover

Ever since Marvel Studios started their cinematic universe, a lot of fans have been hoping that they crossover with other Marvel franchises like X-Men or Spider-Man. We know that the latter got to be included in the shared universe, but Marvel head Kevin Feige and X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner have commented on the possibility of the Avengers running into the X-Men.

Vanity Fair had gotten a quote from Donner who had worked with Feige on the first two X-Men films. When asked about a crossover, she said:

"Well, I wish. I would love it, I would love it. But it's not for me to say."

Feige, however, was a bit more specific with his answer:

"Well, the problem is whenever I say anything about it, it becomes 15 headlines. So would we like to? Yeah, of course. Is there any movement toward it at all? No. Same thing. Same status."

With each universe getting fleshed out, the only way I see the X-Men crossing over is to either get rebooted or to have their franchise exist in an alternate dimension. With Doctor Strange existing in the MCU, I can imagine worlds merging by him opening a door to a world filled with mutants.

Personally, I'm starting to get a fatigue for the new batch of X-Men characters. The continuity within the worlds has basically gone down the toilet, but I have to admit that Deadpool is looking to be a fresh and promising franchise. Not to mention they could be doing an X-Factor movie with James Franco as Multiple Man.

For now, we should just enjoy the franchises where they stand. Have you checked out the new Infinity War trailer?
