X-Men: Dark Phoenix’s Extensive Reshoots To Last Three Months

Disney might be acquiring 21st Century Fox's film and television assets, but the Mickey Mouse House still has months to go before it can finalize the acquisition. Of course, this doesn't mean that Fox is going to stand around doing nothing while waiting for the merger to come to a completion – the studio, after all, has a line of X-Men films coming up, one of which includes X-Men: Dark Phoenix which is now rumored to undergo extensive reshoots.

According to a report from the Quebec Film and Television Council (via Montreal news publication La Presse), Fox is going to take its time working on the reshoots of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Speaking with reporters, the President of the Quebec Film and Television Council Pierre Moreau says that Dark Phoenix's production is heading back to Montreal to work on the reshoot for three whole months.

"They are reshooting the ending of the film," Moreau revealed.

Sure fans might have known for a while that Fox would be working on the reshoots of the upcoming X-Men movie, however, no one knew how extensive the reshoots would be. Based on Morea's comments, it seems like the studio might be doing an overhaul of the entire third act of the film. That would cost the studio a fortune, given the time and the range of the reshoots. Hopefully, this isn't a sign that the film is going to be in trouble.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits cinemas February 14, 2019.
