Woody Harrelson Originally Turned Down The Han Solo Spinoff

Woody Harrelson might be playing Han Solo's (Alden Ehrenreich) mentor in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but there was a time the Hunger Games and Zombieland star actually passed up the opportunity to play Beckett in Lucasfilm's upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie.

Sitting down to speak with Yahoo! About his mysterious role as Becket, Harrelson opened up about how he almost didn't take the part, something that he also did with The Hunger Games.

"I actually turned it down at first. And then, I ended up doing it. I mean, I turned down Hunger Games twice, so this is no genius making these decisions."

However Harrelson put a lot of thought into his decision, saying that he just wanted to go home and rest.

"Honestly I'd been working, I'd done so many things back to back and I just wanted to go home. I was like, obviously this is something most actors would want to be a part of, but I just wanted to go home, so I decided not to do it."

Even Hollywood celebrities need time to rest, and there's nothing really wrong with Harrelson wanting to go home. Luckily producer Allison Shearmur was able to change his mind.

Han Solo hits cinemas on May 25, 2018.
