After Wonder Woman became a huge hit last year, DC is now trying its best to pump out the sequel as fast as they can. Patty Jenkins is back in the director’s chair, and she’s just revealed the official title for the film.

According to Warner Bros (via ScreenRant), the official title of the sequel will be Wonder Woman 1984. It’s been confirmed that the film will have Diana in America during the end of the Cold War era, and now we have a specific year for when the movie will be taking place.

Besides the return of Diana, we’re also getting the villain Cheetah played by Kristen Wiig. What’s also odd is that the movie will be bringing back Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). We don’t know how exactly he is brought back, but based on the end of the first Wonder Woman, it looks like Diana will lose him again.

Though I thought the idea to have the first Wonder Woman as a period piece was interesting, I kind of wished that they pushed Diana’s story forward after Justice League. Then again, the DCEU still has to explain why Diana had lost her faith in humanity come Batman v Superman.

2018 may have seen a huge cinematic absence for DC, but hopefully they make a comeback with some better movies next year.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to come out Nov. 1, 2019.
