Wonder Woman Beats Spider-Man: Homecoming In Fandango Survey Of Highly Anticipated Summer Movies

Taking advantage of the wider audience the summer vacation can afford, studios often make sure to put out big blockbuster films during the season of sun. This year is no different.

With big titles like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Alien: Covenant making way for other films, fans are gearing up for the next cinematic ride, and it looks like everyone's looking forward to Warner Bros. first DC Extended Universe installment of the year: Wonder Woman.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, film viewers have declared Gal Gadot's first feature film as the most highly anticipated blockbuster movie in a recent Fandango survey.

The ticket-selling company asked the survey participants which movie they were looking forward to seeing the most on the big screen this summer and Wonder Woman won first place, beating Spider-Man: Homecoming which came in second and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales which came in third. More than 10,000 respondents decided to take time to participate in the poll, making the survey the largest in the company's 17 year run.

A lot of viewers have been looking forward to seeing Gadot return to the big screen in her own Wonder Woman standalone ever since her stellar performance in Batman v. Superman, shaking off the original backlash Warner Bros. had received for her casting. With so much riding on Wonder Woman's release, many are hoping that the film will mark the turnaround of the growing DC Extended Universe.

Wonder Woman releases on June 2.
