The next big screen adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory might finally be getting a director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paddington 2 director Paul King is in final talks to helm the next Willy Wonka movie. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding King, who is currently one of the most in-demand children’s movie directors. The first and second Paddington family films which were written and directed by King received a lot of critical acclaim, earning nominations from the British Academy Film Awards for Best British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.

It’s no surprise that Warner Brothers is doing its best to nab Rich for its Willy Wonka reboot. The reboots’ script is also being penned by Simon Rich, a screen writer who worked on shows like Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons, and on films like Pixar’s Inside Out.

The publication also reports that this new Willy Wonka movie is actually part of Warner Brother’s plan to reboot various properties of Roald Dahl including The Witches. The Witches is currently in development with a script being written by The Shape of Water director Guillermo del Toro.

The Willy Wonka movie doesn’t have a release date, but we’ll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
