With Matt Reeves taking over the next solo Batman movie, you think that he would bring some changes with the story that Ben Affleck had originally come up with. Speculation for the movie suddenly sparked when Beauty and the Beast actor Josh Gad posted a picture of the Penguin on Twitter.

It's not really confirmation that Gad will be playing the character in the DCEU anytime soon, but it is still a curious tease. Will he be playing the actual character in a DC movie? Or has he been cast to voice him in an animation instead.
Far as casting goes, you think that DC would have cast someone a lot older and more grizzled to play one of Batman's more popular villains. No offense to Gad, but he doesn't really strike me as a guy who could pull off a villain — even when he was the villain's lackey in Beauty and the Beast, he was still a pretty nice guy!
Hopefully we get some sort of announcement soon. Marvel is already heading to the end of their third phase of movies while the DC Cinematic Universe is still slowly growing. I'd love to see the world get more fleshed out.
No official release date has been announced for The Batman, but should pre-production go smoothly, it could come out sometime next year.
