Why Luke's Final Act in TLJ is the Most Accurate Depiction of a Jedi in the Franchise

It's no secret that Star Wars: The Last Jedi was considered as one of the most polarizing films in the franchise, and one common complaint from the fans was the fact that Luke wasn't really even on Crait during the finale. Someone, however, has realized that Luke's actions in the end of the movie were the most true to the Jedi teachings compared to the actions of the Jedi in every other film in the franchise.

We can't find the original source, but this was shared by Star Wars Underworld:

Luke Skywalker's final act was to halt an army dead in its tracks by using The Force in a way that's ultimately revealed to be pacifistic and non-violent.

That's arguable the most Jedi thing any character has ever done in any of these movies ever, and probably the truest realization of Yoda's teachings we've ever seen.

Though the inner fan in me would have loved to see a lightsaber duel between Kylo and Luke, I think it's ultimately the message that the movie should focus on instead of some eye candy. I thought Luke's sendoff was perfect. Besides, we still have that magnificent Throne room scene between Rey, Kylo, and the Praetorian Guards.

A lot of people may give TLJ and Rian Johnson some flak, but the film admittedly is true to the spirit of the original Star Wars, opening up a new chapter of the story, and providing J.J. Abrams an open canvas for the final chapter.

Let's hope Star Wars Episode IX is more risks than retreads.
