Westworld 2 Shuts Down Production Due To California Wildfires

Though we may not be getting Game of Thrones 8 next year, we will be getting the second season of HBO's fantastic Westworld. Season 2 is currently in production, but news has it that filming has been halted due to the state of California wildfires.

THR reports:

"Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it's safe to do so.

Hopefully the wildfires don't take too long. Showrunner Jonathan Nolan has said that the production for Westworld 2 will be twice as ambitious as the first season, but we still have no idea just how upped the ante is.

The last season saw Dolores take control and eliminate park creator Ford, and this follow-up will probably address all the other hosts that started attacking people. With all the hints dropped at the end of the first season, we could be looking at other "worlds" in the series like Samuraiworld or Romanworld.

Though Game of Thrones is set to come in 2019, it's surely nice that 2018 will give us a follow-up to Westworld. With GoT nearing its end, a lot of people are thinking that Westworld is HBO's way of finding a new "masthead" series. In terms of production value, writing, and nudity, WW definitely gives Game of Thrones a run for its money.

Westworld2 is set to come out Spring 2018.
