Ever since he first appeared in an episode of The Flash, Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold was a favorite amongst fans. Miller was clearly hamming it up whenever he was Cold aka Leonard Snart, with his numerous ice puns putting a smile on many fans faces. Unfortunately, good things don't last forever and Miller told fans on his Instagram page that he was shooting his final episodes for The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
After confirming that he was shooting his final episodes for the two CW shows, Miller went out of his way to thank the crews he worked with on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Captain Cold was a prominent part of both shows, so it will be interesting to see how they address the actor's departure. At the least, it lessens the number of characters who know that Barry is the Scarlet Speedster.
Cold had an interesting arc throughout the series, often switching between being an anti-hero and an all-out villain with a code. His relationship with Grant Gustin's Barry Allen was always entertaining, so that will surely be missed. Fans will also miss his dynamic with Heatwave, which was campy to the point of hilarity and gave fans plenty of Prison Break nostalgia.
The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow can be seen on the CW.
