Watch First Few Seconds of Pixar's Short Film, Bao

A lot of people are excited to see the release of Disney Pixar's The Incredibles II, but before that movie, there will be a screening of another Pixar short, as per tradition. This year's entry is called Bao, and the first few seconds of the short have been released online.

Here's the synopsis:

"An empty-nesting Chinese mom gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life. But she must come to terms with the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever."

The clip released shows the little meat bun coming to life, and we're sure to get some more cute shenanigans from it when we see the short for ourselves.

It's worth noting that Bao is considered one of the longer Pixar shorts ever made, and it's also the first short to be directed by a woman, Domee Shi. Shi also had this to say about her short video (via EW):

"Often times it felt like my mom would treat me like a precious little dumpling, wanting to make sure I was safe, that I didn't go out late, all that stuff… I just wanted to create this magical, modern-day fairy tale, kind of like a Chinese Gingerbread Man story. The word ‘bao' actually means two things in Chinese: Said one way, it means steamed bun. Said another, it means something precious. A treasure."

Bao comes out alongside The Inredibles II which hits theaters June 15.
