Watch Clip of Low Key Lyesmith On American Gods

Though Starz's American Gods has given us looks at different characters like Shadow, Mr. Wednesday, and Technical Boy, we haven't been able to see all the other characters. With the release date for the series to close, Starz has given us a look at Shadow's former cell-mate, Low Key Lyesmith.

I don't recall if the conversation they have was in the book itself, but it sure does sound like it did come from the novel. Low Key is introduced very early on in American Gods — the very first chapter in fact. He seems like a lot of fun in this clip, and I can't wait to see the rest of the show.

[SPOILERS] If it wasn't obvious enough, the character is actually Loki, the Norse God of Mischief. With Tom Hiddleston's iteration of him in Marvel's Thor franchise being so popular, it's nice to see a fresh take on the character — he looks so ratty and mischievous compared to Marvel's sleeker and elegant Loki. [END SPOILERS]

When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday's bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It's a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they've lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.

American Gods premieres on Sunday, April 30 at 9 p.m. on Starz.
