Vincent D'Onofrio Heads To First Reading For Daredevil 3

Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin was a fantastic villain for the first season of Daredevil, but he was mostly absent for the second season. With Marvel Netflix supposedly entering its second phase, it looks like Kingpin will be back to rumble with the Man Without Fear.

D'Onofrio posted this on Twitter:

Kingpin was the audience's first taste on how great villains can be for Marvel's Netflix lineup. Besides being absolutely brutal and terrifying, Wilson Fisk still managed to be someone audiences could empathize with. With the third season of Daredevil said to be based on the Born Again storyline, you can bet that Kingpin has a bigger part to play in the story.

In Born Again, Matt Murdock has to deal with the Kingpin finding out his secret identity and attempting to make his life a living hell. Even with just a few episodes in Daredevil 2, we saw Kingpin take over an entire prison, free the Punisher, and beat up a blind man (without even knowing that he's Daredevil).

Hopefully the Kingpin comes back in full for the third season, and he'll be every bit as fun as he was in the first. As of now, Matt Murdock is declared dead, and I wonder how he'll be able to come back to his supposedly regular life. If you ask me, his sacrifice at the end of Defenders was kind of a real misdirect, and I hope the season three has a good explanation on why he didn't die underneath all that rubble.

No official release date has been announced for Daredevil 3, but I have a guess that it comes out sometime later next year.
