Venom Will Have A Scene Set In Asia; Possibly A Period Setting

Production for the Tom Hardy-fuelled Venom movie has already started, and a casting call has come out that gives us a hint at a scene in the film. What's more, that specific scene could possibly be taking place in a period setting.

Omega Underground writer Christopher M tweets:

The "without modern haircuts" bit is the clue that the film could have a scene that doesn't take place in the current time, and I have a guess that it could be taking place somewhere in Vietnam. With the origin of the Venom symbiote in this film said to be borrowing from the Ultimate comics, I'm guessing this period piece could show the ancient/chemical origin of the symbiote.

Though the symbiote originally had an alien origin in the comics, the Ultimate origin of the suit was that it was a bio-suit created by the fathers of Peter Parker and Eddie Brock in order cure modern diseases like Cancer. Of course, the suit wasn't perfected and the person who ended up using it ends up turning into Venom.

A lot of people are curious as to what this Venom movie will have in store. A lot of people were mad at Sony for setting it outside of the MCU, away from the new Spider-Man; but Sony must really have faith in the script to move forward with the film.

Venom is set to hit theaters Oct. 5, 2018.
