Venom Director On The Possibility Of Seeing Spider-Man In The Spin-Off Movie

A Venom movie won't be the same without an appearance from Spider-Man. Though Sony has previously said that the upcoming film starring Tom Hardy simply is a part of a franchise intended to be adjunct to the Spider-Man universe in the MCU, many are still hoping for an appearance by Marvel's Tom Holland.

Speaking with Empire(via Comic Book Movie) about the upcoming Venom spinoff, director Ruben Fleisher was asked about the potential Spider-Man cameo in the film. Though the director tries his best not to give away too much information, Fleisher doesn't rule out the possibility of seeing everyone's favorite web-slinger in the film.

"This feels very much like Venom's movie. It's the introduction of the character. As to where it will go in future movies, and who he'll run across, I can't say."

There have been a lot of rumors regarding Holland's involvement in the movie, with some saying that the Marvel star might appear in the film not as Spider-Man, but instead as Peter Parker. Of course, all rumors ought to be taken with a grain of salt. However, while Venom and Silver and Black are being built outside the Spider-Man franchise of the MCU, the web-slinger is too much part and parcel of the Venom origin to leave out of the film.

Venom makes its big premiere on October 5, 2018.
