Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets: The Poster Has A Fifth Element Easter Egg

Luc Besson is a director probably best known for his work on The Fifth Element and Leon: The Professional, now he has a new upcoming cosmic sci-fi movie, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. As it turns out, the poster for the movie has an Easter Egg harkening back to Besson's 1997 cult classic.

As pointed out by /Film, on the upper right side of the poster, there's a sign board for a shop that seems to read "Korben's" — well, you can only read the "orben's" part, but it could very well start with a "K"!

Fans who've seen The Fifth Element will remember that Bruce Willis' character was named Korben Dallas, so the presence of his name in the poster is a possible tease of what we can expect from the movie. Are we going to get a Bruce Willis cameo a la [SPOILER] M. Night Shymalan's Split?[END SPOILER] I'd rather much see the return of Milla Jovovich's Leeloo; that character is much more interesting (and beloved) compared to whoever she plays in those Resident Evil movies.

Here's the synopsis for the movie:

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha's seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets hits theaters on July 21.
