Upcoming Star Wars Novel Will Focus On Padme Amidala

Padme Amidala's storyline is pretty much open and shut with the Star Wars prequels, but Disney is looking to expand her story further with an upcoming YA novel. Jedi Bibliotek (via Making Star Wars) reveals that there's an upcoming story focusing on Padme.

According to the report, the novel is set to release April 24, 2018, but there haven't been any details on who the author is or even a synopsis. Granted there's a huge 10-year gap between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, there's a lot of room to fit in a new story for Padme. Clone Wars even revealed that she had a boyfriend before Anakin.

With some other books like Leia: Princess of Alderaan getting some good reviews, I'm interested to see what Lucasfilm has planned for Padme's story. Some part of me has a feeling it's going to be an anthology-type series which covers several moments in Padme's life from her time as queen to her death in Revenge of the Sith. Maybe it can even be about Leia finding out more about her mother without her knowing it.

With the book's release a few months away, you can bet that Lucasfilm is planning some sort of announcement soon. Maybe we'll get one before the year ends.

The Padme-centric YA Novel is set for a release on April 24, 2018.
