Uncharted Movie Finally Sees Some Progress

When an Uncharted movie was announced, a lot of fans rejoiced at the thought of finally seeing Nathan Drake take his adventures on the big screen.

Just recently, fans also experienced a sort of heartbreak, if only when Mark Wahlberg confirmed that he was no longer attached to the lead role of the in-progress Uncharted movie.

That was a month ago, and any hope for any progress hasn't really been bright. Until now, that is. Joe Carnahan has been pegged to write the script of the Uncharted movie. In a surprise movie, Carnahan posted an image of the script via his Instagram.

Apparently, he finished the current draft just this week, a great start for the year for any Uncharted fan. As if the "done and dusted" script isn't enough, Carnahan continues to tease that it is a "beast" of a script.

He also touts that it's comparable to any "monstrously cool action script in Hollywood" today. Talk about confidence—but as long as it does justice to the legendary videogame, I can let my expectations run wild.

Naturally, fans have also expressed their hopes that the script does the movie justice. The looming videogame curse seems to be at standstill following the split reception for Assassin's Creed. In the history of videogames-turned-movies, there has not been a very compelling movie, at least from hardcore fans' point of view.

As one fan had pointed out, Carnahan has one of the biggest responsibilities in the movie's production. A good story can easily beat out great effects. So this script better live up to the teaser as a beast of an action script.
