Ultra Instinct Goku Returns in The Latest Dragon Ball Super Episode

Since Dragon Ball Super introduced Goku's Ultra Instinct form in his first match with Jiren, fans knew that they would eventually have a rematch at the climax of the Tournament of Power, and now, that moment has finally arrived.

In episode 128, while Goku was knocked down, Vegeta continues to fight Jiren with all he's got left. At this point, the Prince of Saiyans was too exhausted to transform into Super Saiyan but he keeps on trying to hit Jiren while remembering his family and Cabba. Sadly, Jiren was too powerful for him, so it didn't take long for him to eliminate Vegeta from the Tournament of Power. However, right before Vegeta was knocked off the stage, he passed his remaining chi to Goku, helping his Universe 7 comrade recover and fight Jiren.

At first, he transforms into Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x20 form but he couldn't hold that form too long against the overpowered Universe 11 Pride Trooper. It seemed hopeless for Goku, but as Jiren was about to deliver the finishing blow, Goku unleashed his Ultra Instinct power (along with the awesome music that comes with the transformation) and dodged every punch Jiren tries to throw at him. Then he eventually landed a hard punch on Jiren, causing him to hold back and face his worst enemy as the episode ended.

This confirms the preview shared before the episode aired:

With only two minutes left in the Tournament of Power and only three episodes of Dragon Ball Super left to go, fans are so hyped to see the next episode to see the final showdown between Universe 7 and 11. Too bad, they'll have to wait two weeks because the show is having a hiatus next weekend.

In another note, let's not forget that Frieza is still in the Tournament of Power. He'll probably have a significant role in the finale. Will he betray Universe 7 or serve a more meaningful purpose to Jiren's character development, as the theory suggests? We'll find out in a few weeks.

Dragon Ball Super is set to air on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon.
