[UPDATED] DC Head Admits That Zack Snyder's Vision For The DCEU Didn't Sync Up With Theirs

[UPDATE] A DC rep has contacted us and explains that DC President Diane Nelson was misquoted. She ‘did not, nor would she ever criticize Zack Snyder or his vision with anyone on or off the record.' Abraham Riesman has since been trying to do some damage control of his statement on Twitter.

The original article is as follows:

Though the DCEU initially had Zack Snyder calling all the shots and setting the tone for the entire cinematic universe, his position on the franchise is now said to have taken a back seat. As it turns out, Snyder's vision for the DCEU didn't sync up with what the heads of DC were thinking even back then.

Abraham Riesman from Vulture had written an article about the big changes behind-the-scenes of DC movies, and this part was something he had left out. Talking to Batman-On-Film, he explains:

"That was actually a quote that didn't show up in the finished piece, but that [DC President] Diane [Nelson] gave me. It was to the effect of ‘we are a director-driven place and Zack had a vision that didn't necessarily sync up with what our vision of these characters is, but we respect that he wanted to go for that and that's part of our philosophy'."

Just watching the reception of DC movies, it's clear that Snyder is doing something that not all the fans are loving. The studio seems to want to change things with the release of the upcoming Justice League, but I have to appreciate how they chose to respect the tone that Snyder was going for with the property.

Then again, it was said that there was heavy studio interference with Suicide Squad and that was the reason why the film was a total mess.

For now, I think it's best to put all grievances of past films behind and focus on the future of the DCEU. After all, nobody wants these movies to be bad. They just happen. Let's hope Justice League breaks the same grounds as Wonder Woman.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
