UPDATE: Oscar Isaac Did NOT Meet for a Role In The Batman

Yesterday, rumor came out that Oscar Isaac was approached for an unknown role in Matt Reeves' The Batman. Now news has come out that those reports are actually false.

As per The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez:

No, the studio did not meet with Oscar Isaac for any role in THE BATMAN. They don't even have a script yet. Also, Isaac has been shooting EPISODE IX & the only break he had was to do press for OPERATION FINALE in NYC.

The rumor had sparked a lot of speculation on who Isaac was going to be playing, and some people even went so far as to give us some fanart of what Isaac could look like as a younger Batman. I guess for now, we're just going to have to wait and sit on significant updates for the movie.

Though a lot of anticipation is on The Batman, updates for the film have been incredibly sparse. Some think that the main villain of the film is said to be The Penguin, but that's only speculation after it was said that Birds of Prey had decided to drop Penguin as their villain in place of Black Mask.

No official release date has been announced for The Batman, but with production set to begin sometime next year, we could be looking at a release in 2020.
