Truck Accident in Tokushima is Japan's First Pokemon Go Related Death


At around 7:25 pm Wednesday night in the Japanese city Tokushima, two women were hit whle crossing the street, fatally injuring one of them. The truck driver, 39 year-old Keiji Goh, admitte that he wasn't watching the road ahead because he was playing Pokemon Go.

As ANN reports, one of the women, 72-year-old Sachiko Nakanishi, was sent to the hospital, where she later died. The other woman, 60 year-old Kayoko Igawa, was seriously injured from the accident.

According to NHK, Goh, who has since been arreste, was quoted as saying, "I was playing Pokémon Go while driving, so I didn't really see what was in front of me."

Earlier this month, an update on Pokemon Go warned players not to play while driving.
