Tommy Wiseau Adds Audition Tape To His Joker Campaign

It looks like Tommy Wiseau's upping his Joker campaign with a new audition tape.

The cult film director and actor's been pretty busy throwing his name in the ring, hoping that Warner Brother might make him the new Joker in Todd Phillips' upcoming Joker origin movie. Back in February Wiseau went on Twitter to share fan art of himself as DC's Clown Prince of Crime, candidly telling the world that yes, he wants to become the DCEU's next Joker.

Now, thanks to the people at Nerdist, Wiseau's got an audition video to help his campaign, and tape's just terrifying to look at. The publication may have had a make-up artist give Wiseau the Joker's look, but the actor, director, and producer of what so many consider Hollywood's worst movie of all time doesn't seem to be a very good Joker at all.

A crude mix between Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's version of the Clown Prince of Crime, Wiseau goes on screaming lines and reading phrases like his character would in the room.

It's still a pretty good try though. It's hard not to give Wiseau some credit for his tenacity – the guy's got a lot of grit to go whatever goal he's after.

The Joker movie doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
