Tom Holland's Spider-Man Will Reportedly Appear in Venom Movie

The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony's Spider-verse may be connected after all.

Sony's standalone Venom film was said to be set in a different universe from where Tom Holland's Spider-Man exist, leaving many fans wondering how you could tell a Venom story without his iconic rival. It looks like the famous web-crawler will show up in Venom film after all.

In a recent episode of Collider Movie Talk, comic book film scooper Joe Schnepp said that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will appear in the upcoming Venom film.

"I'm gonna say it right here on this show, Spider-Man is gonna be in Venom," Schnepp said. "For the last couple months, we've been talking about Venom, we've been hearing about how Sony's keeping it all separated. Spider-Man's in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but every other character that's in the Spider-Man universe is separate."

There's no official confirmation about Spider-Man's possible appearance yet, and if Schnepp is telling the truth, then there must be a reason why Sony isn't revealing Spider-Man's appearance in the film.

When Schnepp was asked if Holland's appearance will be just a cameo, he said, "Like a cameo, like a who-knows-what-eo. All I'm sayin' is Spider-Man, and I'm talkin' about Tom Holland's Spider-Man, is gonna be in Venom."

Even though Spider-Man is not central to Venom's plot, it would still be cool to see him show up in a post-credits scene or a quick prologue. Or maybe they're planning to surprise us with a team-up in an epic battle against Venom's enemies. We'll have to wait and see.

Directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, and potentially Woody Harrelson. It's set to release in theaters on October 5.
