Tom Holland Pays Respects to Late Spider-Man Co-Creator Steve Ditko

Though Stan Lee is the mascot of Marvel, he wouldn't be where his is were it not for his co-creator Steve Ditko. It was revealed that Ditko had died recently, and it would only make sense that Spider-Man actor Tom Holland would pay respects to his character's co-creator.

Holland posted:

We all want to leave our mark on the world - this guy crushed it.
He made so many people so happy and changed lives - most of all, mine!
Thank you Steve - your life lives on man, thank you #SteveDitko

Though Ditko was largely known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man comic, it's also worth noting that he had a huge hand in creating Doctor Strange. In the 2016 film, it was even Ditko's original art that was the inspiration for the trippy visuals found in the film.

Besides his work on Marvel , Ditko also had several works in the DC side of things. He helped revamp Blue Beetle , and he also helped create/co-create characters like Hawk and Dove, The Question, and Creeper. He even had this character named Mr. A who was supposed to reflect the influence of Ayn Rand: Objectivism.

Ditko may not have been as public as Stan Lee, but he is still considered one of the greats when it comes to the history of comics. No doubt his name is something we'll still be seeing as long as superheroes are part of the mainstream.
