X-Men: Dark Phoenix James McAvoy Says He’ll “Get Shot” If He Spoils The Movie

Knowing Disney's inevitable acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the studio's various film and television assets, X-Men: Dark Phoenix could very well be the last installment in Fox's long-running mutant franchise. While many were disappointed by the tepid trailer that Fox released last year, fans are still hoping that Dark Phoenix does well, and while some are eager to know more about what's to cme, Professor X actor James McAvoy refuses to budge.

McAvoy just recently spoke in an interview with ComicBook.com to help promote what might be Fox's last X-Men movie, and when asked to lift the veil of secrecy surrounding the project, the actor refused saying that it was for his own safety.

"Nothing," the actor responded when he was asked about what he could say about Dark Phoenix. "I'll get shot by the powers that be."

Right now there's very little information about the plot of Dark Phoenix, though fans are already guessing that Sophie Turner's Jean Grey is going to wreck havoc with the Phoenix Force inside here. What we are certain of however is the incoming likelihood of a franchise reboot once Disney completes its acquisition of Fox. Unfortunately, while some are excited to see the X-Men and all the other mutants make their way to the MCU, there are some who aren't too eager about the arrangement.

"I don't know if the X-Men could go into the Marvel universe, I'm not sure," McAvoy said in an interview with Yahoo!, "Maybe they could? But I think what's different about the Avengers universe anyway is you've only got a couple of superheroes in the world. There's a good amount, but there's like a couple of football teams' worth, you know what I mean?"

What do you feel about the X-Men making their way to Marvel? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
