Watchmen Actress Regina King On What Would Get Her On Board Season 2

Despite the critical success of Damon Lindeloff's live-action adaptation of Alan Moore's Watchmen graphic novel, the showrunner doesn't seem to be too keen on a second season of the series, standing by his intention to keep the show to one batch of episodes.

While it seems like a second season of the Watchmen is unlikely without Lindeloff on board, the series lead actress Regina King is still interested in reprising her role as Angela Abar. Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, King was asked what her "interest level" was in seeing her character become Doctor Manhattan in the second season of Watchmen.

According to the actress, she would be interested in joining another batch of episodes. However, she has complete faith in Lindelof's vision for the series.

"I can see myself being involved in a season two if it was really smart," King told the entertainment news outlet, "I would need to know the beginning and the endgame, unlike how this season was. I did not know what the endgame was. I just totally trust [creator] Damon [Lindelof]. There's a part of me that feels like … it's just really hard to think we could top season one, you know?"

Of course, this isn't the first time that King expressed interest in returning as the hard-knocking Sister Night. Speaking in other interviews with entertainment news sites like IGN, the actress expressed the same kind of sentiment, saying that she would be open to a second season if it was just as intelligent and as emotionally driven as the first season of the series.
