Warner Brothers Reportedly Wants Johnny Depp as the Joker for Batman Beyond Movie

While the DC news cycle has been focused on Michael Keaton appearing as Batman in the DC Extended Universe's Flash movie the past few days, there have been reports saying that the actor could very well reprise his role in a live-action Batman Beyond movie for HBO Max.

Mikey Sutton just recently spoke in the brand new episode of YouTube channel Midnight's Edge, and according to the popular comic book movie leaker, Keaton's role in the DCEU may extend beyond Andy Muschietti's The Flash. According to Sutton, Keaton is in talks to reprise his role as the Dark Knight for a live-action Batman Beyond project, although development has yet to begin on the title.

"If they could net Keaton for it, the possibility of this materializing greatly increases," Sutton said.

That's not all, of course, Posting a new video on Midnight's Edge, Sutton offers new information on the supposed Batman Beyond movie. Rather than an HBO Max exclusive, the project may end up being a theatrical release with Tim Burton as the film's director and Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp as the Joker.

Having Depp star as Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime might seem a little bit risky considering the controversy surrounding the actor and the legal battles that he's had with former spouse Amber Heard, however, it seems like the tide has turned in favor of Depp the past few months.

If Depp wins against Heard, having the actor onboard the Batman Beyond project would help add to the film's draw.

Of course, as exciting as this may all seem, we advise fans to take the report with a grain of salt. We'll have to wait for confirmation from Warner Brothers before anything else.
