Tom Holland was Blocked from Taking Marvel Photos Because of Spider-Man Problem

Tom Holland's Spider-Man might be one of the most loved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the British actor's future in the franchise became a highly debated topic after negotiations between Disney and Sony fell through.

Now, we're learning that the failed Spider-Man agreement wasn't just hard on fans – it was tough on Holland too.

Stopping by to make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote Spies in Disguise, an animated feature which sees Holland working together with Will Smith and Karen Gillan. The Spider-Man: Far From Home star revealed some of the difficulties he faced when he was placed in Marvel purgatory after word came out that the Spider-Man deal had fallen through.

According to the actor, during the days when everyone was unsure about Spider-Man's status in the MCU, he wasn't allowed to take Marvel pictures at conventions.

"We were at D23, which is the big Disney convention and the news had come out and I was obviously devastated," Holland told Kimmel during the interview, "I was really upset, and my mom and all my friends were there taking Marvel pictures and I was like (frowns) not allowed to be in them and it was awful."

It sounds heartbreaking to hear that the Spider-Man actor was left out of all the fun, but Holland was obviously kept out of the pictures because of the uncertainty of his status in the MCU.

Luckily, Sony and Disney managed to work things out, partly because of Holland's emotional plea to Disney CEO Bob Iger for the Mickey Mouse House to work things out with Sony. Now Spidey has two-more years in the MCU, a time which we hope will allow for many more Spider-Man movies.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
