Tom Holland Had A Cameo In Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a huge hit when it made its way to cinemas last year. Not only did the film wow fans with its unique art style, but the film also brought fans in for a ride when it showed off the many dimensions of the multiverse and introduced the many different versions of Spider-Man.

While the film centered around Miles Morales' version of the wall-crawler, fans also got to see Gwen Stacy, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, and the two different versions of Peter Parker.

Now, we learned that a third Peter Parker was supposed to appear in the film, one that would be voiced by a very familiar star – Marvel's Tom Holland.

Apparently, Spider-Man: Far From Home's lead star was supposed to voice a cameo in Into the Spider-Verse, making an appearance that would have been welcomed by Marvel fans from all around.

Speaking in an interview with Joe, Holland was asked about what he felt about Into the Spider-Verse. During the discussion, the actor revealed for the very first time that he was actually up for a small cameo in the animated movie. The Marvel star even described what his scene would have been like if the cameo pushed through.

"At one point I was supposed to be in it," Holland said. "There was going to be another Peter Parker [in addition to the one voiced by Jake Johnson]. There was like a scene in a train station or something, and it was going to be like an Easter egg. I was going to walk through the background or something, and say like ‘Hey, kid.'"

Such a shame that Holland didn't make the cameo. There have been multiple iterations of Spider-Man over the years, however, Holland's version of the web-slinger has been considered the most comic book accurate version of the hero so far. It would have been lovely to see him included in Into the Spider-Verse's multiverse.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to come swinging into cinemas on July 2, 2019.
