It looks like there’s trouble on the set of the second season of DC Universe’s hit series, Titans.
TMZ just recently posted on a new report regarding a tragedy that struck the set, saying that Warner Appleby, the series special effects coordinator, passed away after being hit by a heavy object while working on the latest batch of episodes for the show.
The incident occurred at a test facility where Titan’s crew tests out the process for the different stunts that they plan for the series before bringing in the stunts for actual production. According to the publication, one stunt went wrong during the testing process. The test involved having a car flip over its side, however, the vehicle’s shrapnel flew right off and struck the special effects coordinator right on the head.
Appleby was rushed to the hospital, however, authorities in Toronto (the location where Titans is being filmed), say that the crew member succumbed to death while on the way to the hospital.
Here is Warner Bros. Television’s statement on the tragic passing of Appleby:
"We are heartbroken and devastated by the passing of our treasured colleague, special effects coordinator Warren Appleby, after an accident which occurred at a special effects facility during the preparation and testing for an upcoming shoot. Warren is beloved by all who worked with him during an impressive 25-year career in television and motion pictures. The executive producers, along with everyone, in the Titans family, Warner Bros. Television Group and DC UNIVERSE, wish to express our deepest condolences, and heartfelt love and support, to Warren's family and friends at this most difficult time."
Right now, Titans Season 2 production has been temporarily shut down. However, the report says that it will resume in two days.
Titans Season 2 has yet to receive a release date.
