Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi Slams People for Panic Buying Guns

Panic buying necessities to battle the spread of the novel coronavirus might seem natural during this time of crisis, however, it seems like COVID-19 has gotten the public so paranoid that it's also begun to panic buy guns and other arms.

According to a new report by News Hub, people in New Zealand have begun to line up outside firearm shops as Kiwis begin to panic-buy guns before the country's COVID-19 lockdown. Taking to Twitter, Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi can't help but slam the panic buyers, calling them idios for thinking that post-apocalyptic movies like The Road and I am Legend might become a reality in light of COVID-19.

"F***ing idiots who think The Road or I am Legend is about to become reality. Bet only two people in this picture actually hunt for food," Waititi wrote on his post.

A lot of netizens can't help but agree with the filmmaker. More than twenty-nine thousand Twitter users have liked the post and now the tweet has more than two thousand comments.

We understand the shock and the outrage over the panic buying of arms. People should be more concerned about food and sanitation items than firearms. It's not like we can shoot the virus to death. The only way to really battle COVID-19 is to keep yourself healthy, wash your hands frequently, and to practice social distancing. There really isn't any point in panic buying guns – that is unless you use it to hunt for food.
