Thor Director Taika Waititi Warns COVID-19 to Watch Out in New Video

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is doing his part in alleviating the stress and tension brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The director behind the Academy Award-nominated comedy-drama Jojo Rabbit just recently took to Twitter to share a video of himself sending out a warning to COVID-19, telling the virus that the human race is coming for it with all its might.

"Wash your back, Aotearoa. Mā tātau katoa e ārai atu te," the filmmaker wrote on his Twitter post.

In the video, Waititi threatens the novel coronavirus itself, telling the disease to watch its back because people are going to wash everything from their backs, hands, and ears to get rid of the pandemic.

"You might be coming for us, COVID, but you better believe we're coming for you," the filmmaker says in the video. "So watch your back. Don't wash your back, watch your back. You don't need to wa... we're the ones washing our backs, that's what you got us doing. We're washing everything. We're washing our backs, our hands, our heads, our ears… I'm so sick of washing stuff! But you, you need to watch your back, because we're behind you."

It's a cute video, that's for sure. Waititi's tweet has more than twenty-eight thousand likes, creating more than four thousand conversations on Twitter. While it might take a lot more work to entirely get rid of the novel coronavirus, Waititi has a point when he reminds people to wash their hands. Handwashing has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to limit the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19 has had such a major effect on everyone during the past few months. Forcing people to self-isolate at home, it's affected the way we live our lives, our businesses, our economy, even our entertainment industry.

We really hope the pandemic dies out soon.
