Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo might have announced plans to take a break from the comic book film industry after working on Avengers: Endgame, but that doesn't mean that the filmmakers wouldn't want to return and work on another movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking in a new interview with Business Insider (via ComicBook.com), Joe clarifies his previous statements about the plans he and his brother have for the future after completing Endgame, saying that they'll be keeping their door open to future projects from Marvel Studios. While the two accept that they'll probably be working with other studios in the future, they'd love to work with Marvel again.
"We love Marvel, we've had an incredible experience with them," Joe told the publication during their discussion. "It's why we've made four movies in six years with them. They're like family to us. I think they do a great job of separating "church and state," where we're focused on the projects we're focused on, and someone else will focus on those other projects. We'd work with them in any capacity moving forward, and we value as much as anything in our work life the quality of the people we're around and quality of the life that we have when we're working with those people, and that's A++ when you're working with Marvel."
Of course, even before Infinity War, the Russo Brothers have had a lot of experience with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did the two direct Captain America: The Winter Soldier which was loved by both fans and critics, but they also directed Captain America: Civil War.
While the two might take some time off to work on other projects, we're pretty sure that Marvel would bring back Joe and Anthony to direct other Marvel projects in Phase 4 of the MCU.
